Nottingham Forest have “turned the tables” against Derby County according to striker

Lewis Grabban bagged the decisive goal for Nottingham Forest in their win over rivals Derby County in the East Midlands derby yesterday.

Sabri Lamouchi’s side have climbed into 5th in the Championship after their narrow 1-0 win over the Rams at the City Ground.

Grabban latched onto a defensive error by Jayden Bogle to slot past Kelle Roos and give his side a crucial three points against Philipp Cocu’s men.

The 31-year-old told Forest’s official club website after the game: “The main thing was that we got the win. It was good for the fans, so I’m very happy. Their support gives us that little bit of a boost.”

“I thought we were patient and when we did get a clear chance we put it away. We knew before the game that they might have most of the ball so really you just have to wait and then be ready when you do get a chance – that’s what we tried to do today.”

When about his goal, Grabban said: “I had a little glance at where the keeper was and it looked like he hadn’t covered the near post so I just tried to aim for that and fortunately it went in.”

Before the game we would’ve taken a one nil. We were able to hold on [after taking the lead] and I think we defended well in the end. It always is a bit nerve-wracking when they [Derby] are up the other end but the boys did well. We’ve turned the tables a bit after some years of Derby being on top – it’s nice to be winning.”
