Norwich City are eyeing up a move for Stoke City goalkeeper Jack Butland in January if asking price drops, according to The Sun.
Premier League side Norwich City want to sign Stoke City goalkeeper Jack Butland in January if asking price drops.
The Premiership side want to sort a deal for around £12-£15million but Stoke City are believed to want at least £25m.
About Jack Butland –
He began his career at Birmingham City, and enjoyed loan spells with Barnsley, Leeds United and Derby County, and then Asmir Begovic’s departure from the bet365 Stadium in the summer of 2015 allow Jack Butland to take the number one spot at Stoke City.
He managed to repay the faith shown in him by producing a quite spectacular start to life in the Premier League, before seeing his campaign abruptly ended in March by injury.
It was a heart-breaking blow for the talented goalkeeper, who looked a cert for Roy Hodgson’s England squad for Euro 2016, with many even tipping him to wrestle the Three Lions starting spot from Joe Hart.
Butland dropped –
Jack Butland was dropped by Nathan Jones at the weekend after the goalkeeper made two mistakes against Preston North End in a 3-1 defeat at Deepdale.
Stoke were been 3-0 at home against Leeds United at the weekend following goals from Stuart Dallas, Ezgjan Alioski and Patrick Bamford.
After the game, Stoke City manager Nathan Jones spoke to BBC Sport: “I’m a brave manager and we believe we will turn it around but the players have to show responsibility as well.
“It seems when something goes against them they mentally go. When the first goal went in we seemed to lose all the belief that we tried to instil in them.”
