Boodles May Festival 2024: Day 3 betting tips by Ed Quigley

Top Tipster and Broadcaster, Ed 'Longshot Ted' Quigley is on the hunt for more winners and is back with his best bets for Day 3 of the Boodles May Festival at Chester.

Ted's day three picks for Boodles May Festival 2024:

Find the following picks for the Boodles May Festival on Friday. Play on the races with our best expert-rated horse racing betting sites:

  • Chester 2.35 - Box To Box each way - bet with bet365
  • Chester 3.05 - Passenger - bet with CopyBet
  • Chester 4.15 - Dreams Adozen each way  - bet with BetMGM

Chester 2.35 - Box To Box each way

BOX TO BOX has an outstanding record on the Roodee, boasting three wins from four starts over course and distance, and so has to be taken seriously here back at his favourite venue. The 5-year-old returns after a spell in Bahrain, and considering this venue was the last time he tasted success, that can only bode well.

He is versatile in regards to underfoot requirements, so the prospect of drying ground won't cause any issues. In regards to draw, Box To Box has a handy berth in stall 2, so that is another positive for the Hugo Palmer trained individual. Will Buick takes the ride on the gelding, and this combination can get in the thick of things at an each-way price.

Chester 3.05 - Passenger

The lightly-raced PASSENGER is an exciting type with a 4-year-old campaign in mind, and the Sir Michael Stoute trained representative is of real interest here. After winning on debut, he ran well when not beaten far in last year's Dante, but found things all too much when well beaten in the Derby.

It was probably a blend of the occasion and his failure to stay 1m4f on that day saw him not run up to his full potential. He rounded off the season with a gritty display to get back on track in a Group 3 at Windsor. With further progress expected, he can kick on here and make his presence felt amongst the elite of the division as he gains experience. Richatd Kingscote takes the ride, and I think they have major claims of landing this Group 2 prize.

Chester 4.15 - Dreams Adozen each way

As you would expect, this is wide-open, but can go the way of the Charlie Johnston trained DREAMS ADOZEN. The 4-year-old doesn't have many miles on the clock, and boasts form figures at the track of 122, so has to be feared back at this venue. The 'King Of Chester', Franny Norton will be doing the steering, and a mark of 78 doesn't look beyond this talented sort who can see out this extended 2m2f trip with drying ground to help.

Stall 8 is no issue over this trip, and the yard have been amongst the winners lately. In a wide-open encounter, he looks a solid each-way angle given that he tends to save his best form for the Roodee. Dreams Adozen looks more than capable of getting involved at the business end of proceedings.

Don't forget Ed will be back Saturday with his best bets on what should be a blockbuster weekend of action...
