Rooney has taken on managerial roles since ending his playing career at Derby County in 2021.

But since his dismissal as Blues manager in January following a string of poor results, Rooney has been on the lookout for a new job, and has undertaken media work in the meantime.

This has seen him appear as a pundit for both TNT Sports and Sky Sports, having been in the latter's studio to dissect his former side Everton's 2-0 victory over Liverpool in the Merseyside derby.

And the ex-Derby boss has now revealed that his next move will see him continue in this field, as he announced he will be joining Sky Bet's The Overlap.

The popular channel was launched by former teammate Gary Neville in 2021, and features fellow United legend Roy Keane, as well as football heroes Jamie Carragher, Jill Scott, and Ian Wright.
